Our story

Rooted in Tradition. Built on Family.

Our story began in 1966, when Anthony G. Ajello opened the first Pastosa Ravioli in Brooklyn, New York. What started as one neighborhood store grew into something much bigger under the leadership of his son, Michael, who expanded the family business and helped make Pastosa a staple at Sunday dinner tables for generations.

As the next generation joined the family business, that same passion for good food, quality, and tradition continued.

In 2014, Michael’s son Anthony and daughter-in-law Miranda brought those traditions to New Jersey, opening our Cranford location, followed by Florham Park in 2017.

But to us, this business has always been about more than food.

We live in the communities we serve. Our children go to school here, play sports here, and now work alongside us in our stores, carrying on the family legacy. Our customers are our neighbors, friends, teachers, and familiar faces we see every day.

Some have been with us for decades, following our family from Brooklyn and Staten Island to New Jersey. Others have only recently discovered us. Every one of them is part of what makes this place special.

Nearly 60 years and three generations later, we’re still guided by the same belief that started it all: good food brings people together.

From our family to yours, thank you for welcoming us to your table.
